This complex project required broad stakeholder and agency consultation on approvals and First Nations engagement. A heritage natural river system through downtown London, it supported multiple recreational uses and the winning “Back to the River” design competition urban design elements, for a signature City legacy.
The River has played a vital role in the City’s history and continues to be an integral part of the City’s current and future culture and heritage. PRIME teamed with Jacobs and Matrix Solutions for this signature assignment. PRIME was integral to working with stakeholders and agencies on approvals and knitting the planning policy and the winning “Back to the River” design competition urban design elements into the plan.
The One River EA identifies the preferred strategy for the Thames to enhance the River’s overall social, environmental, and economic health. The team understood the importance of leveraging project opportunities to realize a River vision that benefits the various stakeholders and the river’s natural environment in the long term.
